Fire District Information
The Mt. Zion Fire Protection District operates as a professional organization, which is proud to serve the community. Established in 1946, as a Volunteer Fire Department, with 30 active Volunteer Firefighters and now three full time (24/48 hour shift) and six part time employees. The District encompasses 42 sq. miles, serving the Village of Mt. Zion and Mt. Zion Township (pop.6,000) The Fire District provides Fire Suppression, Rescue and Emergency Medical Services (Advanced Life Support level) while operating 9 pieces of Fire Apparatus from 1 Fire Station and responds to over 600 Emergency and Non-Emergency calls for service annually.
