Clock Change/Battery Change
Mon. Nov 6th 2017

Its that time of year again to change our clocks; its a great time to change the batteries in all detectors, smoke and carbon monoxide. Its also a great time to review or create a home exit plan in the event of a fire in your home (we have links on our site to assist). And also to review exit strategies for when you are away, i.e.; staying at a hotel or visiting a theatre or business (know 2 ways out of these also). Have a meeting place. Do not go back inside. Sleep with doors closed. Know 2 ways out. In cell phone only homes, know where they are and keep them charged. remember that detectors have a useful life span, please refer to mfg. recommendations for replacement, but typically, 5-7 years for carbon monoxide detectors and 7-10 years for smoke detectors. End of life cycle alerts are a different sound and can usually be distinguished by reading the back of the detector. In an emergency if a detector alerts you to a potential danger, exit the building immediately and call 911. Any questions please feel free to call us at 217-864-2081.
